Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, highlighted her engagement with local communities and public lands in a series of tweets posted on August 24 and 25, 2025.
On August 24, Kim expressed support for small businesses in Tustin, stating, “Supporting local businesses is par for the course! Thank you to Even House in Tustin for showing me how you’re creating a space where people can play, work, & connect over the love of sport in Tustin.”
The following day, she marked National Park Service Founders Day by acknowledging Southern California’s natural landscapes. In her tweet from August 25, Kim wrote, “Happy National Park Service Founders Day! Today, I’m celebrating the landscapes that make Southern California so special. I am proud to fight to ensure public lands stay in public hands.”
Later on August 25, Kim attended a community event in Yorba Linda. She shared her appreciation online: “Loved catching up with friends & neighbors at Yorba Linda Concerts in the Park! Thank you @YLParksandRec for the beautiful night of music, dancing, & soaking up the end of summer. Grateful for our Yorba Linda community!”
Kim has represented California’s 40th District since replacing Gil Cisneros in Congress in 2021. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age 60, Kim graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
