Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, recently shared a series of posts highlighting her work on economic development, support for higher education, and advocacy for human rights.
On August 29, 2025, Kim wrote: “I hosted a roundtable with local chambers on how global opportunities can unlock growth in Southern California. Thank you @USTDA for your insights on how we can strengthen national security, boost U.S. jobs, & expand America’s leadership through strategic trade & exports.”
The following day, she celebrated College Colors Day by expressing pride in her alma mater: “It’s College Colors Day! I’m always proud to represent the USC Trojans in Cardinal and Gold. Fight On! “ Kim graduated from the University of Southern California in 1985 with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Later that same day, Kim addressed issues related to authoritarian regimes and human rights: “Today, we remember those who have been cruelly abducted & silenced by authoritarian regimes & honor the families left behind. I will always fight for the basic human rights of those facing disappearance & repression around the world. #EndEnforcedDisappearances”
Kim has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Gil Cisneros and previously represented constituents as a member of the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and now residing in La Habra, she continues to focus on both local economic growth initiatives and international human rights concerns.
