Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on her Twitter account on May 13, 2026, addressing energy policy, legislative developments, and anti-fraud initiatives.
In her first post of the day, Kim criticized state policies by stating: “Left wing policies in Sacramento are crushing Californians at the pump. Years of refinery shutdowns, endless taxes, & restricting domestic energy are ensuring that prices are the highest in the nation. We must unleash American energy & secure supply chains with trusted allies.” (May 13, 2026).
Later that afternoon, she commented on national efforts to combat waste and fraud: “THIS is the leadership America needs! Looking forward to seeing how @JDVance’s anti-fraud task force is cracking down on waste, fraud, & abuse.” (May 13, 2026).
In another statement posted the same day regarding legislative progress in Congress, Kim announced: “DOMINANCE ACT PASSED COMMITTEE! America cannot rely on the CCP for materials that underpin our economic & national security. Proud to see this critical legislation pass @HouseForeignGOP to strengthen U.S. supply chains & unleash American energy dominance.” (May 13, 2026).
Kim has served as a member of Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously represented her community in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age 60, she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
