Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district since 2021, has recently shared updates on her work and community engagement through social media posts.
On September 4, 2025, Kim referenced former President Ronald Reagan in a post about her commitment to public service: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” -Ronald Reagan
Honored to be back in Washington fighting for freedom & our American Dream.
Later that day, she announced an outreach event aimed at helping constituents with federal agency issues: My team will host Mobile Office Hours at the El Modena Branch Library from 2:30pm-5pm TODAY to answer any questions you have with federal agencies!
We’d love to help you get the assistance you have earned & are here to serve you always. (September 4, 2025)
On September 5, 2025, Kim addressed financial literacy challenges in the United States and highlighted bipartisan efforts: Americans can only answer 49% of basic financial questions correctly. @RepBeatty & I are working across the aisle to fix that.
Proud to join #FinancialLiteracyDay on the Hill to ensure that the fundamental tools needed to save, budget, & thrive are accessible to every American.
Kim’s recent statements reflect ongoing initiatives both in legislative priorities and constituent services. She began serving as representative for California’s 40th district after succeeding Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, Kim graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985.
