Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, recently posted a series of updates on her social media account regarding human rights advocacy, support for veterans, and college affordability.
On December 10, 2025, Kim wrote: “This #HumanRightsDay I was honored to join the China Human Rights Fair and tireless advocates shining light where the CCP wants darkness. To those suffering under the CCP’s abuses & the loved ones who wait for their return: please don’t give up hope, we’re with you.”
The following day, December 11, she addressed progress on a local issue: “Thrilled to see the federal government delivering on its promise to prioritize our Orange County Veterans Cemetery. I have long pushed for this project at the local, state, & federal level, & am grateful the VA recognizes that the project is eligible for federal funding!”
Later that same day, Kim highlighted efforts to improve transparency in higher education costs: “College costs shouldn’t be a guessing game. That’s why I’m working with @RepLisaMcClain to require colleges to provide clear, consistent financial aid offers—so students & families can avoid unnecessary debt & make informed decisions about their future.”
Kim has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and resides in La Habra. Kim earned her BBA from the University of Southern California in 1985.
