Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district since 2021, posted a series of updates on September 3, 2025, covering international security concerns, local constituent services, and legislative developments.
In her first post on September 3, Kim commented on a major military event hosted by China: “Yesterday, Xi Jinping hosted Iran, North Korea & Russia for China’s largest military parade in history. Their message is clear: the Unholy Alliance is uniting to undermine the rules-based international order. Now more than ever, the U.S. must show strength & stand with our”.
Later that day, she informed constituents about local office hours: “Team Young will be hosting weekly office hours in Chino Hills TODAY at the Community Center. My team is happy to assist you with federal casework and answer any questions you have.”
In another update on September 3, Kim announced progress on legislation: “Good news! The PARTNER Act passed the House to strengthen economic & national security through cooperation with our allies, including ASEAN & our Pacific Island friends. I’m proud to work to promote a free, open, & prosperous Indo-Pacific.”
Kim has served as the representative for California’s 40th District since succeeding Gil Cisneros in 2021. She previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016 and was born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 before relocating to La Habra. Kim earned a BBA from the University of Southern California in 1985.
