Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, has recently shared several updates on her social media platform. Her posts reflect her ongoing legislative efforts and engagements with constituents.
On June 4, 2025, Young Kim announced her leadership in a bipartisan resolution aimed at commemorating the victims of the Tiananmen Square incident and condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) human rights abuses. She emphasized that “A threat to freedom anywhere is a threat to freedom everywhere.”
Later that day, Kim highlighted her legislative achievements focused on economic issues. In a post dated June 4, 2025, she stated, “Making life affordable is a TOP priority.” She detailed securing a significant increase in the SALT Cap and voting for measures to stop taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security; increase the child tax credit; provide newborns with $1,000 investment accounts; and extend middle-class tax cuts.
In another update posted on June 5, 2025, Young Kim shared an experience of hosting visitors from Laguna Woods at the U.S. Capitol. She mentioned that “Team Young showed the Stenstroms around the U.S. Capitol during their trip to DC from Laguna Woods!” inviting others visiting Washington D.C. to reach out.
Young Kim has been serving in Congress since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros. She represents California’s 40th district and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
