Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district, recently shared updates on her activities and community engagements through a series of tweets. The congresswoman highlighted various events and initiatives within her district.

On June 20, 2025, Young Kim tweeted about the Tustin community event: “Did you know CA-40 is home to the largest one-day chili cook-off in the country? I loved joining our Tustin community at the City’s 41st Annual Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off in Old Town Tustin!” This annual event is noted for its significance as a major gathering in the area.

Later that day, she acknowledged Orange County Head Start’s contributions via another tweet: “Orange County Head Start serves over 1,100 pregnant mothers, infants, toddlers, preschoolers, & their families each year. I appreciate their team taking the time to give me a tour & update me on their important work in our community. Thank you for all that you do!” The program plays a crucial role in supporting young families throughout the region.

In another tweet posted on June 20, 2025, Kim celebrated a new initiative in Villa Park: “Our Villa Park community held its 1st annual Health and Wellness Fair! Thank you to all the vendors and volunteers who made this event a success.” This fair marks an important step towards promoting health awareness and wellness within her constituency.

Young Kim has been serving California’s 40th District since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021. Prior to her current role in Congress, she served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and residing currently in La Habra, Kim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California.
