Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, posted a series of statements on May 11, 2026, highlighting local community developments and voicing her opinions on federal accountability and state policy.

In her first post at 21:00 UTC, Kim shared news about a recent community event: “Team Young was pleased to attend the grand opening & ribbon cutting for the new pickleball & fitness courts at Hart Park in Orange! These 10 lighted courts are serving up active, outdoor fun for our entire community! “

Later that evening at 22:00 UTC, Kim addressed concerns over government oversight of financial fraud, writing: “The swamp has been treating any fraud under $1.5M like petty change & looking the other way. Those are taxpayer dollars & Americans deserve to have them accounted for. Under @POTUS & @JDVance, we’re bringing back real accountability.”

At 23:00 UTC on the same day, Kim commented on California politics and healthcare policy: “Democrats running for governor, continue to blame @POTUS for decades of failed policies in CA while they advocate for free healthcare for illegal immigrants. Sacramento politicians have nothing new to offer. We need real leadership that puts California FIRST! I will always”

Young Kim has represented California’s 40th district in Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1985.
