Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district since 2021, posted a series of messages on August 28, 2025, highlighting significant community events and recognitions.
In her first post commemorating the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech, Kim wrote: “#OTD in 1963, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered a speech that struck to the heart of America.
MLK’s dream & peaceful calls for justice continue to inspire. May we always fight for a world that judges not by the color of our skin, but by the content of our character.” (August 28, 2025)
Later that day, she welcomed a new business to her district with another message: “Welcome to Tustin, Buoyancy Orthodontics!

In her final post of the day, Kim expressed gratitude after receiving an award from ANCA Western Region: “I am so humbled to receive @ANCA_WR’s Legislator of the Year Award.
Ever since my time in State Assembly, I have consistently supported American-Armenian relations, & I will always fight for our local Armenian-American community who I cherish so dearly.” (August 28, 2025)
Kim has represented California’s 40th district in Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age sixty, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
