Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district since 2021, recently posted several messages on her official social media account addressing public safety and economic relief for working families.
On January 17, 2026, Kim emphasized her commitment to law enforcement and community safety. She stated, “Hardworking Americans deserve to feel safe. I will always fight to ensure our law enforcement officers have the training, resources, & support they need to hold criminals accountable & protect law-abiding families in our community.”
Later that day, she highlighted a meeting with local officials from Anaheim at her Washington office. In her post dated January 17, 2026, Kim wrote: “Always great to welcome Anaheim to our DC office — & of course, great to see Chief Pat Russell! Grateful for the chance to work together to support & protect our first responders. https://t.co/wXjqxlp8hY”
On January 18, 2026, Kim addressed economic issues facing American workers and voiced support for tax relief measures. She posted: “Americans work hard. They deserve to be paid for their work & keep more of what they earn. I supported the Working Families Tax Cut to give everyday Americans more breathing room, bring relief to kitchen tables, & keep Washington from skimming off the top of people’s paychecks.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th district in Congress since defeating Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age 60, she holds a BBA from the University of Southern California earned in 1985.
