Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district, shared updates on public safety and community engagement through several posts on March 13, 2026.
In her first post of the day, Kim expressed appreciation for law enforcement actions against gang activity. She wrote, “Thank you @EROLosAngeles & Orange County ERO for removing this dangerous criminal from our community. This illegal alien gang member has a long rap sheet including firearms offenses. He has no place on our streets or in our country.” (March 13, 2026).
Later that afternoon, Kim described her meeting with local advisors about crime prevention and public safety initiatives. She stated, “Met with Public Safety Advisory group to discuss crime in our communities, cracking down on gangs, and protecting our children.
We have accomplished so much together including securing funding to crack down on gangs, increasing law enforcement coordination & getting our law” (March 13, 2026).
In the evening, Kim reported on discussions with wildfire response leaders from multiple agencies. She posted, “Productive meeting with Wildfire Advisory group including frontline leaders from OCFA, Anaheim Fire & Rescue, Chino Valley Fire District, Watch Duty, & local fire councils.
I’ll always work with our first responders to protect our families, property, and communities from the” (March 13, 2026).
Kim has represented California’s 40th congressional district since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021. Before her current role in Congress, she served in the California State Assembly between 2014 and 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age 60, Kim graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985.
