Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, addressed public safety, border security, and election integrity in a series of posts on January 23, 2026.
In her first post at 18:08 UTC, Kim wrote, “Safety isn’t optional, especially when traveling to a different city. I’m proud to support the Safe Stay Act to ensure CO alarms are installed & working in hotels & public accommodations—because safety in every stay matters.”
Later that day at 19:12 UTC, she posted about border policy: “Border security is national security. When our adversaries see open borders, they see weakness—& the opportunity to exploit it. Thankful to for once have a president who delivered on his promise & ended the chaos at the border.”
At 19:37 UTC, Kim turned her attention to election issues: “Voting is a sacred right of U.S. citizens. When noncitizens are found on voter rolls, it undermines trust in our elections. I’m proud to support @RepBryanSteil’s investigation to clean up our voter rolls & stop fraudulent identities from infiltrating our democracy. “
Kim has represented California’s 40th district since 2021 after succeeding Gil Cisneros and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and now residing in La Habra, Kim holds a BBA from the University of Southern California.
