Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, posted a series of statements on social media in mid-November highlighting her support for small businesses and veterans.
On November 15, Kim wrote, “Happy Women’s Entrepreneurship Day! As a former small business owner, I know that entrepreneurs embody the power of the American Dream. I’ll always fight for the local businesses that move our economy and community forward.”
The following day, she addressed economic challenges facing local enterprises in California. On November 16, Kim stated, “California’s gotten too expensive for small businesses to take off. I fought to make President Trump’s pro-growth tax cuts permanent — so local job creators can keep more of what they earn. That means a $21.9 million boost for 25,000 small businesses, right here at home.”
On November 17, Kim congratulated state senator Seyarto and his team for their work supporting veterans: “Congratulations to Senator Seyarto & his team on this year’s successful Veterans Expo! I’m grateful for the incredible community support of our veterans, & I’m proud to serve those who sacrificed so much for our freedoms.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th congressional district since 2021 after succeeding Gil Cisneros. She previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016 and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Southern California. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962, Kim currently resides in La Habra.
