As Chair of the East Asia & Pacific Subcommittee, I stand proudly with the Taiwanese people in celebrating freedom & democracy.
I’ll keep working to strengthen our partnership & stand up to the CCP’s authoritarian aggression.”
Later that day at 16:15 UTC, Kim acknowledged World Mental Health Day with a focus on her local community: “On World Mental Health Day, my heart is with the students, parents, veterans & first responders in our community who face invisible struggles each day.
I’ll keep working in Congress to expand access to mental health care & support innovative solutions for youth & families in”
At 19:00 UTC, Kim addressed concerns regarding the potential effects of a continued government shutdown on military personnel and veterans. She wrote: “VA hospitals & clinics remain open — but if the shutdown continues, military paychecks could be delayed.

Kim has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after succeeding Gil Cisneros. Before her current role, she represented her district in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and now residing in La Habra, Kim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
