Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district since 2021, recently addressed several issues on her social media account, focusing on economic policy, transparency in government, and advocacy for families and survivors of human trafficking.
On November 17, 2025, Kim commented on the impact of federal spending under the current administration: “As we experienced through Biden inflation—when government spends recklessly, families pay the price. I was proud to support the Working Families Tax Cut to let hardworking Americans keep more of what they earn. I’ll keep fighting for fiscal sanity in Washington.”
Later that same day, she reiterated her commitment to her constituents: “I’m back in Washington to fight for California families, workers, & small businesses. I’ve been blessed to live my American Dream. I’m fighting to protect it for my children & grandchildren.”
On November 18, 2025, Kim highlighted her efforts regarding transparency and combating human trafficking: “The American people deserve transparency. Today, I voted to release the Epstein files & deliver on what survivors have been asking for. I’ll keep fighting to protect women & end human trafficking in all its forms.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th district since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age 60, Kim is an alumna of the University of Southern California with a BBA earned in 1985.
