Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, addressed various policy issues in a series of tweets published on November 6 and 7, 2025.
On November 6, Kim criticized federal financial management and promoted tax reforms: “It’s clear that Washington bureaucrats can’t be trusted with your checkbook. The Working Families Tax Cut delivers real relief by eliminating tax on most tips & overtime, raising the SALT Cap, & letting you keep more of your hard-earned money.”
Later that day, she called for greater scrutiny of state welfare programs in California: “California needs to put Californians first. I’m pressing Gov. Newsom to investigate billions in improper SNAP payments, enforce eligibility rules, & ensure taxpayer dollars reach California families — not fraudsters & illegal aliens.”
On November 7, Kim addressed international religious freedom concerns: “Radical groups are waging a campaign of persecution against Christians in Nigeria. The Biden administration was wrong to ignore these atrocities. America must lead with strength & stand for freedom of faith around the world.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th congressional district since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently resides in La Habra. Kim earned her BBA from the University of Southern California in 1985.
