Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, posted a series of tweets on March 12, 2026, addressing topics ranging from youth empowerment to public safety and religious tolerance.
In a tweet celebrating the Girl Scouts’ birthday at 17:01 UTC, Kim wrote: “Happy Birthday @girlscouts! Thank you for helping to build confidence, skills, & leadership in the next generation of young women. As a former Girl Scout & troop leader for my daughters, I’m proud to support an organization that empowers girls to dream big & lead with courage.”
Later the same day at 19:43 UTC, Kim addressed concerns about commercial driver’s licenses being issued in California. She stated: “It’s common sense that illegal immigrants who can’t speak English or read road signs should not be behind the wheels of 80,000-lb trucks. Unfortunately, for Governor Newsom common sense isn’t in the equation. He has been handing out commercial driver’s licenses left & right.”
At 19:48 UTC, Kim commented on religious safety and anti-Semitism following an incident involving Temple Israel Synagogue. She tweeted: “Praying for Temple Israel Synagogue & our Jewish community today. There is no room in our country for anti-semitism & no one should feel fear in a house of worship. Thank you to our first responders.”
Kim has served as U.S. Representative since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, she earned her BBA from the University of Southern California in 1985.
